“Best shop in town. My brother and I were in the middle of doing a gear install in my 14 JK when we got to a point where a special tool was the only option for getting everything in place. No stores/shops in town had one available and it was looking like Tuesday would have been the earliest we could get one. Kevin was able to come to the rescue and was not only able to provide one but HE MADE IT on a Sunday so we could complete the project. I had Kevin replace the anemic 2.73 gears with 4.88's and E-lockers front and rear in my 1986 CJ7. He also worked his magic on my steering system, which is now bullet proof with his custom touches. “Big shout out to Kevin and AV 4X4. Planning a big trip to the Winter 4X4 Jamboree in St. George, UT, I went to Kevin to have him "check out" my Rock Crawler and adjust the toe-in. What he found was scary. Apparently the last time out doing Marble Canyon, I broke the cross support that the entire rear 4 link suspension is connected to! Had I gone to Utah with this, it would have been disastrous! Although I did not have any work scheduled, and Kevin is very busy, he put me in front of the line and spent half a day figuring out how to get everything back in place and repairing it better than ever. What can I say about Kevin and his crew, absolute perfectionist!!!!!!! Coming from Southern California, I had only used the big shops (EVO & Rebel Off road). So, moving to Idaho and doing another big build, I wanted to find a shop that knew what they were doing and understood Jeeps. After going to Facebook I received overwhelming recommendations for American Vintage 4X4 in Meridian. Once I got to Kevin's shop, I could see why. The do highly customized work. Frame off restorations, completely custom fabrication, and everything in between. I knew my Little JL would be very easy for them. Outside of the frustration of waiting for parts to come in due to Covid, the build was extremely smooth. The crew here has EXCELLENT attention to detail. I am VERY particular on my build and look at the little stuff, there was nothing they didn't address up front. Very impressed with the high quality of their work and fabrication. I had run my 2004 TJ X really hard and put it away dirty many times. It was finally time to bring it up to adulthood. I talked to Kevin at AV4x4 about the options and came up with a 2 phase approach. The first step was to upgrade the suspension and body. The second was an engine swap. Through many iterations, we came to perfect solution. The Grown Up TJ goes anywhere I want, and can help others when needed. Kevin and Cary made several custom components from engine mounts and cooling systems to simple things like a custom plate mount.
